Günther Bachmann is an expert when it comes to the topic of sustainability. He is an author, speaker and has worked in multiple high-ranking positions throughout the years.
After finishing his university degree in landscape planning and his PhD, he went on to work at the German Environment Agency. After gaining almost 20 years of experience, Günther Bachmann was appointed the head of office at the German Council for Sustainable development, who advise the German government in sustainable politics. In 2007 he was then appointed its secretary general, from which he retired in the beginning of last year. Further, Günther Bachmann is a member of the board of the German Sustainability Award, and was appointed honorary professor at Leuphana University in 2014.
