Andrea Weber started her career as a la- wyer before she joined METRO in 2003. METRO is an internationally leading specialist in wholesale and food retail. Andrea held different leading positions in the company and has proven herself to be an all-rounder by managing several de- partments, though always connected to the area of environment and sustainability. Due to this experience, she became an expert in responsible sourcing, with a special focus on fish and seafood sour- cing. As Director, Corporate Responsibility, she is the single point of contact for the countries in all matters of sustaina- bility and assures the fulfilment of sustainability standards and policies. Moreover, she serves as a sparring partner and interface for own brands, marketing and communication. Andrea is a member of the Steering Board of the Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI), a global platform and partnership wor- king towards more sustainable seafood.
Holger Heinze worked as a consultant for various firms until he founded Mona- goo in 2014. Monagoo is an online shop that focuses exclusively on selling sustainable products, which would late lead to Holger winning a German government award for sustainability. Monagoo has since changed into a consulting hub for social entrepreneurship Holger is also an engaged speaker and start-up coach, who is frequently invited to host workshops and inspire young entrepreneurs. The attention he received for his work has resulted in him becoming a gust Professor for entrepreneurship at the University of Mannheim.
With the motto “Better Food, better life“, Felix Leonhardt, co-founder and mana- ging director at Purefood GmbH (2014), is working hard to end hunger in developing countries like Burundi. By sel- ling delicious, all-natural food products in Germany and Austria. Felix and his Purefood GmbH team have supplied children in developing countries with over 900000 school meals already, but Felix’s vision is bigger: supplying children with 50 million school meals by 2022 and build an extensive infrastructure for children’s sustenance in developing countries. Felix and his team have had a huge impact on world hunger already and are still striving to do so.
Markus’s career did not lead straight into Social Entrepreneurship. After graduating from school, he started his career as a farmer which later inspired him to help develop the crowdfunding platform startnext. According to Markus, ocal farmers often fund all their machines together a form of offline crowdfunding. This inspired him to grow and develop the idea of crowdfunding online and thereby enable young businesses to get started. After working as a farmer, Markus also began his business studies. The combination of local handcraft and pioneering technologies, traditional values and change characterize his career. Today he is chairman of the Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany (SEND). The social think-tank connects entre- preneurs and players in politics and industry, gives their members a voice and the opportunity to broaden their knowledge by participating in workshops.
Scot received a bachelor‘s degree in electrical engineering and compu- ter science from MIT. He holds three patents: one for a novel breast can- cer diagnostic tool and two for solar energy. Founding his first company in middle-school, he has had a profound passion for using technology to dri- ve social and environmental change since his childhood. With One Earth Designs, he aims to change the way people around the world use energy.
Matthias Scheffelmeier ist seit 2009 bei Ashoka; zuletzt verantwortete er den Aufbau von Ashoka in der Türkei mit Sitz in Istanbul. 2012 gründete er unter dem Dach von Ashoka den “ChangemakerXchange”, eine Plattform und globales Netzwerk für junge Social Entrepreneurs. Seit 2017 ist Matthias auch im Vorstand des neu gegründeten SEND e.V. (i.G.). Als Keynote-Speaker tritt Matthias auch öffentlich für das Thema Social Entrepreneurship, verbesserte Förder- und Wachstumsbedingungen und wirksames gesellschaftliches Engagement ein.
In 2015 Sebastian Grothaus founded Good Profits, which is an investment fund for social businesses and offers very easy, fair and clear investment conditions. They connect potential investors that care about sustaina- bility with companies that are willing to change something. Good Profits already provided capital to compa- nies such as Africa Green Tec or Tennant Company. Good Profits tries to achieve this by investing in sustain- able companies and offer a good re- turn on investment for the investors. They are successful due to a combination of trustworthiness, trans- parency and their own testing sys- tem which is called “Good Search“.
