Andreas is an industrial engineer who graduated from RWTH Aachen University with a PhD in Electrical Engineering. With over 10 years of experience in the energy industry, he has worked in various roles including academia, distribution system operations, and regulatory departments. At Westnetz, Germany's largest distribution system operator, Andreas was responsible for managing the grid's margin and calculating customer grid fees. Currently, he serves as the Head of Asset Management for High Voltage at Westnetz, where he is responsible for planning and designing the high voltage grid at 110kV, which includes substations, overhead lines, cable projects, and the integration of renewable energy sources. He also oversees the integration of other customers such as computing centers, electrolyzers, and battery storages in shaping the future energy world.
